International activity of the Centre
Centre “Na Sumskom” carries out wide international activity, which gives an opportunity to establish business relations with different child organizations around the World,to engage in dialogue in the European context and to take part in international campaigns, urgent projects, and multicultural child events
The Chief coordinator of the International and Regional Relations Department is Tamara Gorlova (gorlova@nasumskom.ru).
On the 31 of October 2001 Centre “Na Sumskom” became a member of European Association of Institutions of Non-Formal Education for Children and Young People (EAICY).
EAICY is a European association of organisations which are active in the field of leisure of children and young people. EAICY was established in Prague (where the head office is still situated) in 1991. Nowadays EAICY - because of its multi-stage organisation where national associations are represented in the European association - represents more than 25,000 institutions from over 25 countries. This is a European platform for managers, pedagogues and children, which also proves to be interesting for politicians and policy makers.
In regard with its aims, tasks and missions, as well as with the goal of supporting and developing international collaboration on the issues of non-formal education, the activities of the Centre “Na Sumskom” have been as follows:
PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS (COORDINATED BY EAICY):
• Project «Young Ambassadors from Tilburg, Netherlands» – the winner in the project contest at EAICY General Assembly in 2005
International meeting within the framework of the project “Young Ambassadors from Tilburg, Netherlands”. Holding press-conference. Meeting with the representatives of Student Government of Moscow (October, 2007)
• Project «Development of competences among youth for voluntary and social work». Participating in international seminar in Frohburg, Germany (October, 2006)
• Participating of parent community of the Centre “Na Sumskom” in the round table and meeting with the administration of Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth (Minsk, 2006), Kiev Palace of Children and Youth (Kiev, 2007) and Rivno City Palace of Children and Youth (Rivno, 2007), St. Petersburg City Palace of Youth Creativity (St. Petersburg, 2008)
• Participating in the meeting of EAICY Youth Council in Krakow (November, 2006)

• International seminar “Young people as a part of democracy?” (October 2010, Bratislava Slovakia.)
In October 2010, in the period from 14th to 17th, in Bratislava , an international seminar "Youth as a part of democracy" was held. Eight participants from different countries of Europe were welcomed by Martin and Michael, - energetic and creative instructors of the Slovak Institute of Youth - IUVENTA. All three days were devoted to painstaking and time-consuming work on several topics:
• “The active participation of young people” – as the types and degree of the involvement, principles, difficulties and ways to overcome them.
• “The driving force of participation” – discussions, their forms, the European Youth Parliament.
• “Where to get support?” - Financial and non-financial support for youth programs. Each participant was awarded with the precious cargo of new knowledge and capabilities, and could bring to light their creativity, share their experiences working with young people and feel the spirit of the team.

ORGANIZATION AND HOLDING INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS IN MOSCOW:
• Meeting of the EAICY Youth Council. Participants: representatives of 12 EAICY member countries (April, 2006).
• International youth meeting “The Energy of Creativity”. Participants: more than 100 young people from 5 EAICY member countries (April, 2006)
• International working meeting of the EAICY delegation (President of EAICY Rene Clarijs, member of Presidium Thijs Malmberg) with the representatives of Ministry of Education and Science and the Department for Youth Policy on the issue of organising and holding EAICY International conference in Moscow in 2010 (May, 2007)

COOPERATION WITH THE MEMBERS OF EAICY:
• Participating of Elena Abramova, the director of the Centre “Na Sumskom”, in all the EAICY Presidium and Control Commission sessions
• Conducting the research within the programm “Building Europe for and with Children”, as part of IVGO project (questionnaire surveying and result processing among more than 500 students of the Centre “Na Sumskom”)
• Collecting video presentations of organizations members of EAICY aimed at creating EAICY video catalogue
• Maintaining regular correspondence with the members of EAICY (sending info letters, distribution of leaflets “100 Ways to Show Children We Care”, congratulating the members of the Association with personal and public holidays and memorable dates)
Ñollaborative project of parental community of Moscow Out-of-School Centre “Na Sumskom” and Lithuanian Youth Centre –“UNUSUAL CONCERT”November,2010, Lithuania)
On 4-6 November, 2010 at the invitation of the Director of the Lithuanian Youth Centre, Mr. Valdas Jankauskas, within the framework of the Project “Unusual Concert”, representatives of parental community of Moscow Out-of-School Centre “Na Sumskom” visited Vilnius.
Mr. Valdas Jankauskas introduced the guests to the system of the Lithuanian Youth Centre’s work, told them about the future development prospects and initiated the participants into pedagogy of non-formal communication. His speech was followed by an interesting slide – presentation.

ORGANIZATION AND COORDINATION OF TOUR ACTIVITY:
• Guest tour of the art groups of the Centre “Na Sumskom” with the concert project “Odyssey” through the member cities of EAICY (St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Kiev, Minsk, Vilnius, Riga (2001 – 2007)
• Meeting of the music group from Jen (Germany) and the students of the Centre “Na Sumskom” as a part of tour through Russian cities (2004 – 2005)
• Guest tour of the art groups of the Centre “Na Sumskom” with the concert project "Open Air"(Eger, Budapest, Shiofok, 2006)
• “Exceptional concert” of parent community of the Centre “Na Sumskom” as a part of the project “We are together”.
